Lorentzen Leads Lady Paladin Invitational

Greenville, S.C. - A second round 74 pushed senior Charlotte Lorentzen into first place while the Georgia State women's golf team maintained its No. 2 spot during day two at the Lady Paladin Invitational.

The Panthers improved their previous score by two strokes, shooting a round's best 312. Despite carding the lowest score of the day, GSU was unable to take over the top of the leaderboard but did lessen the lead by four and stands just two shots off first place. The field of 15 teams will conclude competition with 18 holes Sunday at the par-72, 6,160-yard Furman University Golf Course.

Lorentzen struggled early in the day with three bogeys on the front nine. The Soroe, Denmark native then straightened the ship with three birdies after the turn to finish the day at 2-over 74.  Lorentzen enters Sunday's final round in the top spot at 7-over with a two stroke advantage over second place.

Charlotte Guilleux kept a nearly clean scorecard, shooting even par on 15 holes to finish the day at 4-over 76. The senior from St. Maur de Fosses, France sits behind Lorentzen on the leaderboard in a tie for second place at 9-over entering the final 18.

Sophomore Laura Sanchez had a six stroke turnaround after stumbling through day one to shoot 6-over 78 in the second round. She landed a birdie on the sixth hole to finish the day in a tie for 31st place at 18-over.

Sophomore Solveig Helgesen fired 84 (+12) during the second round while freshman Lauren Court registered 88 (+16). The two stand in a tie for 46th place entering the third round.

East Tennessee State remains in first place after a second round 316. Georgia State holds a five stroke edge over South Florida in third place followed by Nova Southeastern with 636 in fourth and Samford and Longwood tied for fifth place at 640.
