HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Hofstra pitcher Olivia Galati hurled a no-hitter as the Pride won the 2010 CAA Championship by defeating Georgia State, 3-0.
Galati (24-6) went all seven innings allowing no runs or hits while striking out 10. She walked two batters and hit one.
The Pride manufactured runs in the second, third and sixth innings to provide the final margain.
The freshman southpaw McCall Langford (15-5) concluded her sensational freshman campaign allowing two earned runs on nine hits, while striking out three batters. She ended the game with a double play where she caught a liner and then tossed it to first for the second out.
The contest marked the final game for five GSU seniors, Rachel Cunningham, Lauren Fetters, Danielle Roddy, Lily Skelton and Elizabeth Thomas.
Langford, Skelton and junior Lauren Jones earned a place on the CAA All-Tournament team.
GSU concludes a spectacular season that saw the Panthers win 37 games, which gives them four straight seasons of at least 30 wins. The Panthers have now been to three CAA Championship games in five seasons in the league. They have also made it to the tournament in all five seasons, winning a regular season crown in 2006.
