Atlanta, Ga. - The Georgia State men's tennis team (7-4) lost to #30 Georgia Tech (8-3), 7-0, on Saturday afternoon. Victor Valente and Jackson Moore both battled hard, losing in three sets in their matches.
The Panthers fall to 7-4 on the season with its next home match against Winthrop on Saturday at 1 p.m. Georgia State started the match by losing a heart-breaker in No. 1 doubles. Dean O'Brien/ Elliot Potvin defeated Trenton Spinks/ Calvin Kemp, 9-7, to win the doubles point in a tie-breaker.
Sophomore Jackson Moore won the first set, 6-1, against Miguel Muguruza but lost the last two sets, 6-2, 6-1, to fall in three sets. Victor Valente lost the first set ,6-2, against Eliot Potvin but battled to win the second set, 6-2, before losing the third, 7-5.
