Atlanta, Ga. – The Georgia State men's tennis team is
looking to start the season 2-0 when they host Kennesaw State on Tuesday at 1
p.m.
The Panthers are hoping the weather will hold up with
scheduled rain in the Atlanta area that might delay the match. First serve is
scheduled for 1 p.m. at Piedmont Park.
A couple of newcomers are hoping to make their debuts for
Georgia State, as freshman Lucas Santana, and junior Juan Pablo Gutierrez
looked to contribute against the Owls.
"Our
guys are looking forward to playing Kennesaw State. The guys appear confident
and look forward to the challenge,” said head coach Chase Hodges.
Kennesaw
State is coming into the match with a 1-1 record after defeating Austin Peay
4-3 on the road Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers
are coming off its first win of the season against North Florida 4-0. Freshman
Victor Valente won the clinching match 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 against Taylor Albrecth
from North Florida.
