PANTHERSVILLE, Ga. ? The Georgia State softball team (24-7, 3-1 CAA) dropped the first game against Colonial Athletic Association rival James Madison (15-15, 2-2 CAA) 4-0 on Saturday at
Bob Heck Field. Game two of the series was moved from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning at 10 a.m. due to inclement weather.
The Panthers could only produce four hits, all singles, coming from freshman
Catherine Lee, senior

Holly Willis.
The first four innings proved to be a pitchers duel between James Madison's junior right-hander Megan Felts and Georgia State's freshman right-hand hurler
Alicia Mills. The game went scoreless through four until designated player Lauren Mernin hit a solo homer in the top of the fifth to put the Dukes up 1-0.
James Madison struck again in the top of the sixth when Shannon Moxey started the rally with a single up the middle. Simons followed suit with another single to center, putting runners on second and third. Amber Kirk then hit the Dukes' second homer of the day, putting them on top 4-0, which would become the final score of game one.
Mills, now 11-4, completed the game allowing only five hits, fanning six, while walking zero batters.
The series will continue with a doubleheader on Sunday, with game two of the series scheduled for 10 a.m. Game three will begin at approximately 12 p.m.
