Women's Golf Leads After 36

Led by Iliska Verwey's 68 and Sandra Maier's 70, Georgia State women's golf leads by 13 strokes and has three players in the top five after the second round at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate in Greenville, N.C.

Verwey's 68 puts her in second place. Verwey has rounds of 75 and 68 for a 143 (+1). Verwey trails East Carolina's Abby Bools by one shot after the first 36 holes.

Sophomore Sandra Maier recorded a 70. Coupled with her first round score of 74, Maier's card is good for a third place standing after round two at +2.

In the team competition, the Panthers shot a team score of 285 (+1) to retain and extend their day one lead. Georgia State now leads the tournament by 13 strokes over host East Carolina (+29). Miami (Fl.) (+31), Nebraska (+40), and Elon (+41) round out the top five in team competition.

Junior Cathrine Madsen earned a fifth place finish as day two came to close, shooting 74-73 147 (+5).

Anna Scott is on the leaderboard in 20th place after rounds of 76-77 (+11).

Nicole Loesch bounced back from her Sunday round of 83 by firing a 74 on Monday. Her 157 (+15) puts her in 48th after the second round. Loesch improved 22 places up the leaderboard during her Monday round.
