"The thrilling part of the day was the 69 shot by Claire Starkie," said head coach Cathy Mant. "I am real proud of her and her contribution to the team."
State began the day finishing their second round, which was postponed Monday due to darkness. The Panthers concluded their best round of the fall season with a 297 total. Starkie finished completed her round under par with a 71, Torres finished with a 74, Klatten shot a 75, Dedering finished with a 77 and Madsen shot an 80.
"The second round was terrific," Mant said. "We were actually 2-over par as a team when play was suspended. We had a tough time getting it going this morning. But we set a goal to break 300 and we reached that goal. We were able to post some good numbers and we had a number of different people contribute."
The Panthers have one more event scheduled for the fall, which will be close to home in Augusta, Ga. at the America's Choice Mortage Invitational starting Nov. 6.
