Box Score 3 ATLANTA, Ga - The Georgia State softball team fell short in their season finale vs. ULM, losing the game 8-3 Saturday at the Bob Heck Softball Complex.
Senior catcher
Carolyn Deady homered and drove in two runs in her final game for the Panthers (11-42, 1-23 Sun Belt).
After ULM (31-23, 12-12) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second, the Panthers answered with two runs in the bottom half. With one out, Deady hit her fifth homer of the season to left center field, tying the game at one. Then
Bella Morton singled to right field to score
Maya Montague and give the Panthers the 2-1 lead.
But the Warhawks took control with seven runs in the top of the third.
Kate Kastelic came in relief in the third inning and was able to help keep the deficit manageable for Georgia State. The Panthers plated one more run in the bottom of the fifth inning when Deady knocked in her second run of the game on a sacrifice fly that scored Chole Middlebrooks from third.
