JOHNS CREEK, GA -- Georgia State senior
Mahina Leveau and the Panthers finished in second place in the Georgia State Invitational at Rivermont Golf Club in Johns Creek, Ga. The tournament reverted to the 36-hole results after Tuesday's final round was suspended due to severe weather and then cancelled.
Troy was declared the tournament champion after shooting 301-292=593 (+17) on Monday, six strokes ahead of Georgia State. After shooting 307 in the morning round, the Panthers improved to 292 in the second round for a 36-hole total of 599 (+23). The 292 second round by GSU and Troy was the low score of the tournament. Memphis finished third at 603 (+27) in the 16-team field.
When play began Tuesday morning, Georgia State briefly took the lead and was within one shot of Troy when play was suspended with the teams on their fourth or fifth hole.

Leveau shot 73-74 Monday for a 3-over 147, four strokes behind individual leader Rebecca Brink of Memphis, who shot 68-75 (-1) to capture individual medalist honors. Leveau, the native of Beauvais, France, played her first four holes Tuesday at 1-under to pull within one shot of the lead when play ended. Her second-place finish equals the best of her career in a stroke-play event; she also finished tied for second in the 2021 Georgia State Invitational as a freshman.
GSU sophomore
Sritha Vemuri fired a 71, the Panthers' best score of the day, in Round 2 to move into a tie for fourth place at 149 (+5). She was up to third place when play ended Tuesday.
Amelie Weber (11th, 77-74=151, +7) and
Pariya Sanpanawat (13th, 78-74=153, +8) gave Georgia State four individuals in the Top 15.
Georgia State returns to the course April 1-2 for the Colonel Invitational at Eastern Kentucky. That will be the Panthers' final tuneup before the Sun Belt Conference Championship begins April 15 in Fairhope, Ala.
