GULFPORT, MISS. --
Mahina Leveau won all three of her matches to lead the Georgia State women's golf team at the Great River Cup, a match-play format at Windance Country Club in Gulfport, Miss.
The Panthers went 1-2 in three matches, including a 2-2-1 win over Houston Christian in the consolation bracket. Georgia State fell to Memphis 1-3-1 in the opening match and to Southern Miss 4-0-1 in the 5th-place match.
Leveau, the senior from Beauvais, France, defeated d. Rebecca Brink of Memphis, 2up, Lucia Allub of Houston Christian, 7-and-6, and Taylor Trible of Southern Miss, 7-and-5.
Freshman
Pariya Sanpanawat also earned a victory over Houston Christian's Jackie Nguyen, 3-and-2.
Georgia State continues its spring schedule March 5-7 at the Puerto Rico Classic.
