Hayes Chosen to Work With USA Basketball U19 National Team

ATLANTA -- Georgia State men's basketball coach Jonas Hayes has been selected to work with USA Basketball as an on-court coach for the 2023 USA Under-19 Men's National Team Training Camp.

"I was completely floored and honored when I got the call from Coach [Matt] Painter offering me this tremendous opportunity," said Hayes, who just completed his first season at the helm of the GSU program.

"To be able to represent our country and to do so while working with the most respected minds in the game of basketball - I couldn't ask for anything more. It is not an opportunity that I take lightly."

A pool of 35 athletes are expected to participate in the training camp, scheduled for June 11-18 in Colorado Springs, Colo. The final 12-man roster will compete in the 2023 FIBA U19 Men's World Cup, June 24-July 2 in Debrecen, Hungary.

Athletes attending training camp were selected by the USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team Committee and must be U.S. citizens, born on or after January 1, 2004.
