Amelie Weber led Georgia State with a Top 10 showing in the Mercer Invitational, the final event of the fall for the Panther women's golf team.
Weber shot at even-par 72 in Tuesday's final round on the 6,040-yard layout at River Forest Country Club in Forsyth, Ga. That put her in a tie for ninth place with a 2-over 218 for the 54-hole event, highlighted by a 71 in Round 2.
After a tough first round on Monday, Georgia State responded with much better play over the final 36 holes to finish ninth in the team standings. After shooting 310 in Round 1, the Panthers improved to 291 in Round 2 and then 296 in Round 3 to finish at 33-over (897). Samford and host Mercer tied for the team title at 14-over.
Padgett Chitty was Georgia State's next finisher at 224 (+8), tied for 29th.
Freshman
Pariya Sanpanawat, who won last week's Diamante Intercollegiate with a school-record 804, struggled with an 80 in Round 1 but then shot 73-74 to finish at 11-over and tied for 35th.
