Georgia State defender
Eva Diez Lois is the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week, giving the Panthers a Player of the Week honoree for the second week in a row.
Diez Lois helped Georgia State to a 1-0 shutout of Texas State in the Panthers' only action last week.
The win was GSU's third consecutive shutout and extended the Panthers' unbeaten streak to five, including four straight wins.
The blanking of Texas State improved the Panthers to 3-0 in the Sun Belt, Georgia State's first 3-0 start in conference play since 2003. GSU is the only Sun Belt team that has not allowed a goal in conference play.
Diez Lois, the fifth-year senior from Santander, Spain, keys a Georgia State defense that ranks No. 11 in Division I in goals against and goal differential.
Georgia State plays Thursday at Southern Miss and then returns home to host Arkansas State Sunday at 1 p.m. for Alumni Day at the GSU Soccer Complex.
