Panthers’ Season Ends With 4-0 Loss to Old Dominion in Sun Belt Tournament

FOLEY, Ala. – Georgia State women's soccer saw its 2025 season come to an end Monday afternoon, falling 4-0 to Old Dominion in the first round of the Sun Belt Championship at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex.

The Monarchs struck first in the 15th minute when Yuliia Khrystiuk converted from close range to give ODU an early lead. The advantage doubled just before halftime as Gry Boe Thrysoe scored in the 43rd minute off assists from Brooke Edwards and Riley Mullen, putting Georgia State down 2-0 at the break.

Old Dominion continued its attacking form in the second half. Edwards extended the lead in the 52nd minute, finishing a pass from Koto Davis to make it 3-0. The Monarchs added a final tally in the 87th minute when Laura Klebek scored to close out the match.

Georgia State managed six total shots, including two on goal. Emily Glenn led the Panthers with three shots and one on target, while Gabriela Gonzalez also forced a save from ODU goalkeeper Ellie Goodrich, who recorded two stops to earn the shutout.

Goalkeepers Ariana Anderson and Alondra Iriarte split time in the net for the Panthers, combining for two saves. Anderson started the first half, while Iriarte played the final 45 minutes.

The loss ends Georgia State's season at 9-8-2 overall and 5-4-1 in Sun Belt play
