ATLANTA, GA- Georgia State (16-27, 6-12 Sun Belt) will host Kennesaw State (14-26, 6-12 ASUN) in a midweek matchup on Wednesday. First Pitch is set for 5 pm ET.Â
GEORGIA STATE NOTES
This past weekend against Coastal Carolina the Panthers had a big game on Saturday breaking a school record. Daisy Hess led the team in stolen bases with three and the team ended with six in total to beat the all- time school record for stolen bases in a season. They are ranked 11 in the NCAA for stolen bases per game with a 2.23 average.Â
Hess also still leads the Panthers overall in stolen bases with 25 on the season and sits alone at number two in the conference.
Bailee Richardson leads the team with a batting average of .316 and hit her tenth homerun of the season over this past weekend.Â
The Panthers are currently in a three pitcher rotation that includes Emily Buck, Hallie Adams and Emily Hodnett.
KENNESAW STATE AND GEORGIA STATE
Georgia State is coming off a tough weekend against conference opponent Coastal Carolina, who swept the Panthers.Â
Kennesaw State is coming off a series win against FGCU over the weekend.
It will be close battle between the two teams. Â
SERIES HISTORY
February of 2022 was the last time the two teams met with Kennesaw State coming away with the win 8-6 on their home field in the I-75 Challenge. The stats across the board were pretty even between the two teams as they went into extra innings. The Owls hit a two run walk off homerun to win the game in the ninth inning. The all time series record between the two teams since 2008 is 16-15, Panthers.
