ATLANTA -- Georgia State heads into a very busy weekend with five home games in four days at the Bob Heck Softball Complex, beginning Thursday with a 2 p.m. doubleheader vs. Dartmouth.

Then the Panthers will host their first Sun Belt Conference series of the season as Appalachian State visits for three. Game times are scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

MORE ON THE PANTHERS

> Under first-year head coach Angie Nicholson, Georgia State (8-16, 1-2 Sun Belt) opened Sun Belt Conference play last weekend with a huge win as the Panthers knocked off No. 22 Louisiana 4-1 for the program's first win on the Ragin' Cajuns home field and first win over a ranked foe since 2018. GSU catcher Carolyn Deady homered twice and freshman Hallie Adams earned the win in the circle.

> Junior infielder Bailee Richardson leads the Sun Belt with seven home runs, while Deady is seventh with five long balls.

> Richardson is the Panthers' top hitter with a .329 average and 22 RBI, leading the Sun Belt in with 0.95 RBI per game.

> The aggressive Panthers rank second in the Sun Belt and No. 18 in the nation with 2.04 stolen bases per game. Daisy Hess and Emily Brown are tied for second in the conference with 11 steals each.

> Six different pitchers have started in the circle for the Panthers, led by Emily Buck with a 4-4 record and a 3.17 ERA in eight starts.

THE OPPONENTS

> Georgia State and Dartmouth (2-8) have met only once previously as the Panthers won 11-2 in 2010 at the Georgia Tech's Buzz Classic tournament.

> In the Sun Belt era, Georgia State holds a 12-4 lead in the series with App State (13-8, 2-1), including a 6-3 mark in Atlanta. The Mountaineers won the only meeting last season, 6-5 in Boone, N.C., and also took two of three games at GSU in 2019.
