THE KICKOFF: Sixth-year seniors Pat Bartlett and Malik Sumter, who have combined for 117 games with 105 starts, will play their final game for Georgia State as the Panthers look to finish the season on a positive note in their first ever trip to Marshall for a noon game in Huntington, W.Va.

> Bartlett, the offensive guard from Newtown, Pa., will play in the 61st game of his career; he is currently tied with Shamarious Gilmore (2017-21) with a GSU-record 60 games played. He has started 53 of those games (48 in row), all the way back to the 2017 season opener.

> Sumter, the center from Irmo, S.C., started his 52nd consecutive game last time out to break that school record, also set by Gilmore. He will play in his 58th game.

> The Panthers will see their string of three staight bowl games end after back-to-back tough losses to ULM and James Madison by a total of five points despite holding a second-half lead in both contests.

> The Panthers grabbed a school-record four fumble recoveries against James Madison and returned two of them for touchdowns, also a first.

> Georgia State is No. 3 in FBS with a school-record 25 turnovers gained (13 interceptions, 12 fumble recoveries). The Panthers are tied with Marshall, which also has forced 25 turnovers.

> DE Javon Denis returned a fumble 21 yards for a touchdown vs. James Madison. That was his second scoop-and-score, following a 37-yard TD in last year's bowl win. He is just the third player in school history with two defensive touchdowns, joining Antavious Lane and Chandon Sullivan.

> With two touchdowns against ULM, super senior running back Tucker Gregg added another record to his resume as he passed Albert Wilson (26 TD) to become the GSU career leader in touchdowns scored with 27. The Chatsworth, Ga., native and former walk-on broke the Panthers' career rushing mark vs. ODU and now has 2,244 career yards as he moved ahead of Tra Barnett (2,156, 2016-19).

> WR Jamari Thrash leads the Panthers with 51 receptions for 955 yards and six touchdowns. He is No. 2 in the Sun Belt and No. 15 in FBS in receiving yards. Only two players in program history (Albert Wilson, record 1,177 yards, 2013, and Penny Hart, 2015 & 2017) have reached 1,000 yards in a season.

> Georgia State had a record-setting 42-14 victory at Southern Miss as the GSU defense allowed just 202 yards of total offense, the lowest figure in school history. The offense piled up 388 yards on the ground for the third-best single-game in GSU history.

> The GSU defense turned in its two best performances, and two of the best games in program history, in the back-to-back wins over Old Dominion (283 total yards/26 rushing yards) and Southern Miss (202 total/33 rushing). In those two contests combined, the Panthers allowed just 485 yards of offense, including 59 yards rushing, and collected 13 sacks.

> Over the last four games, the defensive line trio of Thomas Gore (5 TFL, 4.5 sacks), Javon Denis (7 TFL, 3 sacks) and Jeffery Clark (5 TFL, 3 sacks) have combed for 17 TFL, including 10.5 sacks. OLB Shamar McCollum has added 5 TFL and 3 sacks in that time.

> Super senior CB Quavian White and junior safety Antavious Lane share the GSU career record with 11 interceptions each. Only two active players have more FBS interceptions.

> Junior running back Marcus Carroll had a breakout game at Southern Miss. Making his first career start, he rushed for 163 yards, the fourth-highest total in program history, and tied the school record with three rushing touchdowns. He followed with 100 yards vs. ULM.

> The Panthers lead the Sun Belt and rank No. 11 in FBS in rushing with 227.3 yards per game.

> CB Quavian White, who is No. 10 in FBS with four interceptions, was named to the Midseason All-America team (honorable mention by Pro Football News. The super senior had two interceptions at South Carolina, along with two tackles for loss including a sack, a pass breakup and five tackles. He added picks vs. Charlotte and Georgia Southern.
