Pete Francis Named Women's Tennis Assistant Coach

 ATLANTA – Pete Francis, who was previously an Assistant Coach at Georgia Gwinnett College has been named as Assistant Coach for Georgia State Women's Tennis by Head Coach Hannah Keeling
 
At Gwinnett, Francis was an assistant for both men and women's tennis programs where he led practices and individual training for players, as well as helped with on-court coaching during matches. During his time there, he helped lead the Grizzlies to undefeated seasons and NAIA National Championships in both men's and women's tennis in the 2020-21 season.
 
"I am very excited to have Pete join our program," Keeling said. "I have no doubt Pete will be a great asset and add to our future tennis success at Georgia State. Pete has an extensive tennis resume and passion to be successful. We welcome him to the Panther Family."
 
From 2016-19, Francis was a Professional Tennis Coach for SportimeNY in New York where he coached and trained top international junior tennis players. From 2013-16 he was a traveling partner and coach/trainer for Coco Vandeweghe, a world top 10 female tennis player.
 
"I'm grateful to Coach Keeling for the opportunity to be her assistant at Georgia State," Francis said. "I'm really excited to start working with the team and helping the ladies achieve as much success as possible." 
 
Francis graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. During his time there, he won numerous awards and recognitions for tennis, including National Player of The Week, ITA First Team All American, Rookie of the Year, and Team Captain. 
 
Still active as a player, Francis is currently ranked in the top 10 of UK National Tennis Players.
