ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga.  – With a pair of golfers in the top 25, the Georgia State men's golf team finished in ninth place on Saturday at the Sea Palms Invitational at the Sea Palms Resort.
Senior Ashton Poole led the Panthers with a final round 2-over 73 to finish at 8-over par and tied for 20th at the three-day event. Fellow senior Josh Edgar finished as the top Panther on the squad, tied for 10th at 4-over par.
Georgia State shot a final round 310 to finish the 54-hole event at 41-over par. Former conference foe Jacksonville State took the team title at 18-over par, while Chattanooga's A.J. Lintunen earned low medalist honors at 2-under par, the lone golfer to break par for the tournament.
