ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga.  – Shooting the second lowest round of the day, Georgia State senior Josh Edgar built a three-stroke lead entering the final around of the Sea Palms Invitational at the Sea Palms Resort on St. Simons Island, Ga.
Edgar shot a second round 2-under 69 to move to 7-under par with 18 holes to play on Saturday. The senior is looking for his first career victory after making five birdies during the second round. He leads Wright State's Austin Schoonmaker by three strokes as just nine players are under par entering the final round.
Georgia State stands tied for seventh at 15-over par following a round of 299 on Friday. In a tightly packed field, the Panthers are just eight strokes off the lead of first-place Jacksonville State.
