ATLANTA – Looking for his first collegiate victory, Georgia State senior Josh Edgar shot a 5-under 66 on Thursday to share the lead following the first round of the Sea Palms Invitational at the Sea Palms Resort on St. Simons Island, Ga.
Edgar made six birdies, including a par on the final two holes, to sit in a four-way tie atop the leaderboard with 36 holes to play.
As a team, Georgia State shot an even par, 284, to stand in a tie with Western Kentucky for fifth place in the three-day event. The pair trail first place Kennesaw by nine strokes entering Friday's second round.
