Basketball Recognizing First Responders This Week

ATLANTA – Georgia State men's and women's basketball, in conjunction with the Sun Belt Conference's 'Be The Change' initiative, will recognize first responders at a pair of games this week.

For the men's basketball game on Thursday against Georgia Southern at 6 p.m., and the women's basketball game on Saturday also against Georgia Southern at 2 p.m., Georgia State will offer free admission to all first responders when showing an employee ID. The first 25 first responders for each game will receive a GSU swag bag and the groups will also be recognized on the video board at halftime.

Each game will be held in conjunction with the third pillar of the 'Be The Change' Initiative. Each Sun Belt Conference institution has been charged with engaging with their community or campus police. The events across the league are being organized by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) in January and February as part of "First Responders Night / Spread The Love".

First responders just need to show their employee ID at the box office window when it opens 60 minutes before tip of each contest.
