MONTGOMERY -- Bowl week is in full swing with the Georgia State Panthers at the TaxAct Camellia Bowl in Montgomery, Ala., preparing to take on Ball State (6-6, 4-4 MAC) Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the historic Cramton Bowl.
The game will be nationally televised on ESPN and can be heard on the Georgia State Radio Network on WRAS-FM 88.5 and the GSU Athletics mobile app.
The Panthers (7-6, 6-2 Sun Belt) arrived in Montgomery on Tuesday and have been busy ever since, beginning with the head coaches' press conference Tuesday evening.
Wednesday was the busiest day of the week, beginning with practice at nearby Huntingdon College.
Then, in one of the highlights of the bowl week activities, the team visited the Rosa Parks Museum in downtown Montgomery.
The GSU student-athletes appreciated the opportunity to visit this important landmark and learn more about the birth of the Civil Rights movement.
"I'm happy that we got to experience the Rosa Parks Museum as a team," senior linebacker
Blake Carroll said. "We are all from different backgrounds, and I feel that it's important for everybody to learn about that type of history so we can move on from it."
"It was very educational, getting deeper into everything that happened at that time. I learned a lot and it was a great experience," senior outside linebacker
Jacorey Crawford said.
Sophomore defensive lineman
Thomas Gore added, "I appreciated hearing about my history and learning more about it."
Wednesday night it was time for a team bowling outing Wednesday evening. There were a few strikes, a few spares, and maybe even a few gutter balls - no scores will be posted!
