Williams and Roberts Earn All-Sun Belt Recognition

ATLANTA-After leading Georgia State to a 19-win regular season, junior Kane Williams and redshirt-sophomore Justin Roberts have earned All-Sun Belt honors as announced by the league office on Thursday.

Williams garnered All-Sun Belt Second Team honors while Roberts was named to the All-Sun Belt Third Team after each had remarkable seasons on the court.

Williams, who was named to the All-Sun Belt Preseason Second Team after garnering Sun Belt All-Tournament recognition last season, is averaging a team-best 14.6 points per game while grabbing 4.5 rebounds and dishing out 4.4 assists per game. He was named the 2K Empire Classic Riverside Regional Tournament MVP earlier this season.

The junior is shooting 77.7 percent from the free throw line and has swiped 46 steals, the second-most on the team. His 137 assists are the 11th-most in a single season in program history.

Roberts, who is playing in his first season at Georgia State following a freshman year at DePaul, is averaging 13.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game while shooting 41.3 percent from 3-point range. He is also shooting a team-best 85.7 percent from the free throw line.

He was named to the 2K Empire Classic Riverside Regional All-Tournament team and currently has a team-high 49 steals. His 3-point shooting percentage is second in the Sun Belt Conference, while his free throw percentage would rank third if he had enough attempts. He is also sixth in 3-point field goals made per game and seventh in assist/turnover ratio.

Georgia State will open the Sun Belt Conference Tournament next Wednesday having earned the No. 4 seed and will host the winner of Game 3 of the championship (Georgia Southern/Louisiana/Arkansas State) at 7 p.m. inside the GSU Sports Arena. Tickets can be purchased by visiting GeorgiaStateSports.com/Tix or by calling 404-413-4020 during normal business hours. The game will also air on ESPN+ and can be heard on WRAS-FM 88.5
