Panthers to Host I-75 Challenge

GSU will host Penn State, Rider, and Iowa State at the Bob Heck Softball Complex.

ATLANTA -- Georgia State hosts the I-75 Challenge along with Georgia Tech and Kennesaw State Friday through Sunday at the Bob Heck Softball Complex.

Georgia State hosts Penn State for a doubleheader Friday at 1 and 3 p.m. before hosting Rider Saturday at 1 and 3 and Iowa State for a 1 p.m. contest on Sunday.

GSU and Penn State have met just once before when the Nittany Lions visited Atlanta in 2011. Penn State won that contest 1-0. This weekend will mark the first time GSU will play Rider and Iowa State.

Admission the the Bob Heck Softball Complex is free.

Quick Notes
  • Sydney Stavro leads GSU with a .310 average as the leadoff hitter. Her four doubles is also first on the team. 
  • Caitlin Ray and Daisy Hess has two homers each. Ray is first on the team with eight RBI with Hess right behind at six RBI.
  • GSU is 14-for-15 for stolen bases this season. Olivia Davis leads with five steals.
