Senior Spotlight: Maya Boles

Maya Boles is a senior majoring in accounting.

Senior Maya Boles, like many of us, has picked up new hobbies over the last few months of quarantine.

Maya and her teammate Jocelyn Jones started an Instagram account to document the pair's explorations of different foods to try around Atlanta.

Maya's passion for trying new things and exploring different cultures sparked her drive to visit new restaurants whenever she can, taking photos and videos of her experiences to showcase on the @atlfoodchicks page.


"We loved eating already and were always out trying new places so we figured why not share our experiences," Maya said.

While a plethora of choices for restaurants is one quality of Atlanta, another is its position as the economic capital of the region.

Maya switched her major to accounting her sophomore year and has an internship lined up at one of the largest firms in the city, KPMG.

"GSU has a series where we could video chat with and meet people that work at KPMG," Maya explained. "Atlanta is a great city for business and I aim to use the internship to hopefully earn a full-time position but also network in the industry."

After her summer internship, Maya aims to get her Masters and become a certified accountant.
