Men's Basketball Announces Signing of Transfer Ryan Boyce

ATLANTA – Georgia State head coach Rob Lanier announced Monday the signing of Memphis transfer Ryan Boyce who will join the Panther roster immediately and be eligible for the 2020-21 season.

Boyce, a 6-6, 185-pound guard originally from Memphis, Tenn., redshirted the 2018-19 season before playing in five games for Memphis this season.

Prior to Memphis he played his senior season for East High (Tenn.) which won the Class AAA State Championship. Before joining East High, Boyce played for Houston High (Tenn.) averaging 14.5 points and 10 rebounds per game as a junior.

Coming out of high school Boyce was considered a 3-star prospect ranked as high as the No. 6 player in Tennessee and No. 230 nationally by 247Sports.

"Ryan joining us is a great development for our program," Lanier said. "He is a tremendous young talent who checks all of our boxes as a student-athlete and as a person. Ryan has such a bright future and we are delighted to have the opportunity to start working with him in the days and weeks ahead."

Georgia State will return to the court on Thursday night Sun Belt Conference preseason favorite South Alabama at 8 p.m., at the Mitchell Center in Mobile, Ala.
