Cabrero, Shank Earn Sun Belt All-Conference Honors

Georgia State begins tournament play 8 p.m. Wednesday on ESPN+

ATLANTA – Georgia State women's soccer standouts Jimena Cabrero and Brooke Shank both earned Second Team All-Sun Belt honors as voted on by head coaches around the league, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Cabrero, a freshman from Santander, Spain, has made a huge impact in her first year of collegiate soccer, leading Georgia State with five goals and two assists for 12 total points. Her five goals are tied for the 10th-most among all players in the Sun Belt, four of which are game-winning goals – tied for the second most in the conference. Cabrero has proved to be one of the Panthers' biggest weapons on the offensive side of the pitch, leading the team with 19 shots on goal and a .613 shot on goal percentage.

Shank, a 2019 Preseason All-Sun Belt honoree, is tied for first in the Sun Belt with three game-winning goals against conference opponents. Her three goals against league competition are tied for the sixth-most among all players in the Sun Belt, while she has also put up a 2.20 shots per game average against conference opponents for the eight-highest mark in the league.
