Drake Breaks Hits Record Against Owls

ATLANTA – Ivie Drake recorded her 272nd career hit Wednesday, breaking Georgia State's all-time record in a 6-3 loss to Kennesaw State at the Bob Heck Softball Complex.

Drake singled in the bottom of the third to pass Panther legend Corrie Roberts on the GSU career hits list. The senior now holds the GSU career records for most hits, home runs, RBI, runs scored, and walks.

With Kennesaw State leading 3-0 and Drake standing on first, Reagan Morgan doubled to left field and Drake came all the way around from first to score GSU's first run of the game.

The Panthers completed the rally in the bottom of the fourth with a pair of runs to even the score at 3-3. Skylar Mosel came home on a wild pitch and then Remington Hasty singled up the middle to bring in Kristin Hawkins for the tying run.

Kennesaw State went back on top with a run in the fifth and two runs in the sixth.

The Owls would hang on to win 6-3 and end GSU's three-game win streak.

Drake finished the game 1-for-2 with a run scored and two walks. Morgan and Hasty recorded GSU's two RBI on the day.

GSU finished the contest with seven hits.

Georgia State returns to Sun Belt play this weekend as Coastal Carolina comes to town for a three-game series beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday at the Bob Heck Softball Complex.
