MOBILE, Ala. – Sophomore Taylor Bradley hit two doubles and senior Taylor Anderson hit a double and a triple to help Georgia State's softball team defeat UL Monroe 10-2 in six innings Wednesday at the Sun Belt Tournament.
Bradley's first double broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the fourth. With two on, she hit a line drive to the wall in left-center, bring home both runners and giving GSU a lead it would hold on to. That same inning, Anderson hit a ground-rule double that scored Bradley and made it a 5-2 game.
Georgia State broke the game wide open in the sixth inning, beginning with a leadoff single by freshman Remington Hasty. Hasty finished the day 3-for-4 at the plate with a run scored. Bradley then hit her second double of the day and Anderson followed with a two-RBI triple that landed in the right-field corner.
Anderson's three RBI led the team on offense, but the GSU pitching was strong as well. Senior Katie Worley got the start and went 3.2 innings and allowed just two runs on three hits. Freshman Amanda Chance went the final 2.1 and held the Warhawks hitless and scoreless.
Next up for Georgia State is top-seeded UL Lafayette tomorrow at 11 a.m. ET. Links to the broadcast can be found on GeorgiaStateSports.com.
