What made you want to pursue sand volleyball full time?

Interwies: I think sand volleyball is more fun. There are only two people and you have to develop your individual skills. Passing, setting and attacking are all aspects that you need to have in order to be successful on the sand court. You have to be a more complete player. This also means more responsibility. I also have more fun digging and throwing yourself cause its in the sand.

You have an exciting upcoming schedule. Any schools in particular you look forward to playing?

NI: The whole squad is excited to play FIU this season. Last season, it was between us and them for a spot at nationals but they ended up taking the spot, so I know the girls are looking forward to playing them.

Do you have any superstitions about playing well?

NI: I always have to have a good breakfast before a match.

Who is the funniest person in the locker room?

NI: Alexis Townsend is definitely the most outgoing. She's always the first one dancing and getting everybody pumped for the matches.

What was the biggest adjustment moving here from Germany?

NI: The most challenging adjustment is speaking English full time. I came here to further develop my English skills. When I lived in Germany I traveled all over Europe with my family. I love traveling and wanted to come to America. I enjoy Atlanta and love going to new places.

Have you found any good German restaurants in Atlanta?

NI: Not really, but I have found a great French place in downtown Decatur.

What is your go-to karaoke song?

NI: Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars
