Sandy Panthers Finish 3-1 at the Sun Belt Midseason Tournament

ATLANTA—Georgia State beach volleyball finished the Sun Belt Midseason Tournament with a 3–1 record against conference opponents, including two sweeps on Saturday afternoon at the GSU Beach Volleyball Complex.

Georgia State opened the weekend with a 4–1 win over UNCW on Friday morning.

The Panthers secured the team victory after winning three consecutive matches on courts three, four and five. Georgia State added a fourth point on court two before UNCW picked up its lone win on court one.

On court one, Savannah Ebarb and Bella Troncale fell to Lyvia Trimp and Gracie Sistrunk in straight sets, 21-18, 21-19.

Danica Singleton and Michaela Jefferson earned a three-set victory on court two over Gabby LaPata and Hannah Parkinson. The pair took the opening set 22-20 before dropping the second 16-21, then secured the point with a 15-8 win in the deciding set.

Kealy Dirner and Ella Mozeleski earned the Panthers' first point on court three with a 21-13, 21-15 win over Traci Schrock and Sarah Thompson.

On court four, Kaebre Sullivan and Noalani Nuez defeated Sophie Puhala and Alivia Hamel, 21-19, 21-0, after the second set ended in a medical withdrawal.

Ellie Neville and Kaylie Drysdale completed the early scoring run on court five, defeating Keenen Engebretson and Courtney Jensen in straight sets, 21-11, 21-11.

Georgia State fell 3–2 to Coastal Carolina later Friday in a dual that featured three matches decided in three sets.

Savannah Ebarb and Bella Troncale earned a point for the Panthers on court one, defeating Frida Meincke Lyo and Emma Kunaus, 23-21, 24-22.

On court two, Anna Rita and Madeline Sigmon defeated Danica Singleton and Michaela Jefferson in straight sets, 21-19, 21-16.

Court three went to three sets, where Maya McNabney and Courtney Burnham defeated Kealy Dirner and Ella Mozeleski, 21-19, 19-21, 18-16.

Ava Novello and Karis Gordon secured another three-set win for Coastal Carolina on court four, defeating Kaebre Sullivan and Noalani Nuez, 24-26, 21-19, 18-16.

Georgia State earned its second point on court five as Ellie Neville and Kaylie Drysdale defeated Kristyna Koblizkova and Olivia Pippin in three sets, 21-10, 18-21, 15-10.

Georgia State rebounded Saturday morning with a 5–0 sweep of ULM.

Savannah Ebarb and Bella Troncale opened the dual with a 21-11, 21-9 victory over Abby Ryno and Claire Williamson on court one.

On court two, Danica Singleton and Michaela Jefferson defeated Paige Ingersoll and Avery Hunter in straight sets, 21-10, 21-10.

Kealy Dirner and Ella Mozeleski added another point on court three, defeating Katie Felts and Izabela Zukowska, 21-19, 21-16.

Adeline Thompson and Noalani Nuez secured the point on court four with a 21-13, 21-15 win over Brooke Bankston and Maddie Peterson.

Ellie Neville and Kaylie Drysdale completed the sweep on court five with a 21-11, 21-11 victory against Calli Otjen and Ava Sondrup.

The Panthers closed the tournament with another sweep, defeating College of Charleston 5–0 on Saturday afternoon.

Savannah Ebarb and Bella Troncale secured the point on court one with a 21-15, 21-9 victory over Paige Clark and Cassie Thayse.

Danica Singleton and Michaela Jefferson added another win on court two, defeating Holly Hopkins and Elizabeth Curry, 21-19, 21-13.

On court three, Kealy Dirner and Ella Mozeleski defeated Alivia Newberg and Ella Duffner in straight sets, 21-18, 21-18.

Kaebre Sullivan and Noalani Nuez earned the point on court four with a 21-18, 21-16 victory over Fiona North and Grace Toscano.

Kate Phelan and Kate Cunningham closed the weekend on court five with a 21-11, 21-15 win over Sophie Sageer and Madison Loving.

The Sandy Panthers are back in action at the GSU Beach Volleyball Complex as they host North Alabama, South Florida, UAB and Mercer on April 3-4.
