Panthers Defeat Boise State at East Meets West

BATON ROUGE, La. -- The Georgia State beach volleyball team closed weekend competition at the East Meets West tournament with a 1-3 record, earning a victory over Boise State on Friday. 

The Sandy Panthers also saw action against ranked competition in No. 8 Arizona State, No. 10 UC Berkley and No. 17 Grand Canyon University during the tournament.
Georgia State opened the tournament on Friday against eighth-ranked Arizona State before securing the win over Boise State later in the day. The Sandy Panthers capped off the tournament on Saturday, facing No.10 UC Berkley and No.17 GCU.

Georgia State opened the tournament with a 4-1 loss to No.8 Arizona State.  
Georgia State picked up its lone point on court three as Kealy Dirner and Ella Mozeleski earned a three-set victory over Mckenna Flaherty and Kristin Gilmour, 21-18, 16-21, 18-16 


GSU-3 | Boise State-2
Georgia State was able to gain momentum later in the day to snag a 3-2 victory over Boise State.

Savannah Ebarb and Bella Troncale opened the dual on court one with a battle that went to the third set against Addison Wolden and Ava Anderson, 21-18, 11-21, 15-13.

Boise State was able to grab their first point on court three with Avery Allen and Keira Demirjian defeating Kealy Dirner and Ella Mozeleski in two sets, 21-13, 21-18.

On court four, Elli Wolthuis and Addison Moss defeated Kaebre Sullivan and Noalani Nuez in three sets, 14-21, 21-16, 15-13.

The deciding point came on court five where Ellie Neville and Kaylie Drysdale took a straight-set victory over Charlee Ellena and Lily Patock, 21-16, 21-16, to secure the 3-2 dual win.



 
GSU-1 | UC Berkley-4
Georgia State opened Saturday competition with a 4-1 loss to No. 10 UC Berkley in the third match of the weekend 

Adeline Thompson and Noalani Nuez earned the Panthers' point on court four, defeating Elle Evers and Savanna Lau in straight-sets, 21-16, 22-20.

Ellie Neville and Kaylie Drysdale won set two of the match, but ultimately dropped a three-set match on court five to Jenna Colligan and Sofia Williams, 21-15, 17-21, 15-12.

GSU-0 | GCU-5
The Panthers finished Saturday with a 5-0 loss against No.17 Grand Canyon University.  
 
The Panthers return to Atlanta to close out March play, hosting the Sun Belt Mid-Season, on March 27-28.
