Kaitlyn Medlam became just the third Panther to be named to the All-Region first team. Catcher Callie Alford and outfielder Jessica Clifton will represent GSU on the second team.

All three softball players were also named to All-CAA teams, with Clifton being named to the conference's first team, while both Alford and Medlam made the All-CAA second team.

Last season, Paige Nowacki was named to the NFCA first team, while Alford earned second team honors. In addition to McCall Langford's second team selection in 2011, the Panthers have now earned six all-region honors during the past three seasons and eight total in program history.

Medlam won 18 games in the circle during 2013, including the third perfect game in program history among five shutouts. The junior compiled a 2.72 ERA in 183 innings pitched and 108 strikeouts. She was named the CAA Pitcher of the Week once during the month of February.

Alford made her second consecutive All-Region team after leading the team with a .560 slugging percentage and 44 RBI, the fifth-most in a single season in program history. The sophomore was also second on the team with a .325 batting average and 10 home runs.

Clifton paced the team with a .331 batting average and 57 hits. The junior started all 55 games for the Panthers in centerfield and was named the CAA Player of the Week after helping the team to a sweep over Delaware in their final home series of the season.

Georgia State finished the 2013 season with a record of 36-19, including a 13-8 CAA mark in their final season in the conference.
