Softball Finalizes 2013 Recruiting Class

ATLANTA — Georgia State softball (28-11, 6-3) polished off it 2012 recruiting class by signing two student-athletes during the regular signing period, head coach Roger Kincaid announced Wednesday.

Jordan Brown and Haley Chambley are the final two members of the incoming GSU Class of 2016.

Brown is a middle infielder for the Ola High School team, where she was a teammate with fellow signees Taylor Anderson and Hunter Williamson. Current Panther junior Paige Nowacki is also an Ola graduate.

The Ola team won regional championships in 2008 and 2009 and finished third in the state playoffs this past season with Brown, Anderson and Williamson as part of its starting lineup. In addition to softball, Brown also lettered in basketball and track at Ola.

Chambley played centerfield for Union Grove High School also in McDonough, Ga. She was named to the first team All-Region in 2009 and was an All-Region honorable mention in 2010. In 2009, the outfielder was also named her team's defensive player of the year.

Union Grove won their regional championship and advanced to the Elite Eight of the state playoffs during the  2011 season. Chambley played travel ball for the Georgia Impact Gold team.

The six student-athletes joining the Panthers in 2013 season will replace an outgoing class of eight seniors from the current squad.
