Georgia State Women vs. VCU, Thursday, Jan. 14, 6 p.m. ● Georgia State Men vs. VCU, Saturday, Jan. 16, 6 p.m.
Georgia State athletics, in partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank, is sponsoring a "Can the Rams" promotion for the upcoming men's and women's basketball games against the VCU Rams.
Fans can join the Panthers in fighting hunger by bringing canned goods to the Jan. 14 women's game and the Jan. 16 men's game. Both games tip 6 p.m. at the GSU Sports Arena.
All canned goods will be donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
Bring six cans of food to either game and half off admission plus fans will receive a free, reusable grocery bag in Panther blue, decorated with the new GSU athletics logo (while supplies last).
For tickets call 866.GA.STATE or purchase on-line. Individual game tickets are priced at $5 for GSU women's basketball games and $12 for GSU men's games, and there is plenty of parking available at the GSU Sports Arena. Bring six canned food items to either game and receive half price admission.
The world-famous act "Bucket Boys" will perform at halftime of the GSU-VCU men's game on Jan. 16.
The Atlanta Community Food Bank is celebrating 30 years of fighting hunger, and in Fiscal Year 2008-09, ACFB distributed 22 million pounds of food and grocery products. Ninety-two cents of every dollar donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank (including the value of all donated food) goes directly to services in the community to help fight hunger.
