NEWPORT NEWS, VA (04/21/07) ? Georgia State women's tennis lost its Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) semifinal match on Saturday morning at the Huntington Park Tennis Center to William & Mary, the No. 1 seed and the No. 13 ranked team in the nation.
Georgia State ends its season at 11-9 after the 4-0 loss to The Tribe (19-2) as William & Mary moves on to the championship match looking for its 19th title in the past 22 years.
The Panthers return all their players for next season and end their season after winning their first CAA tournament match yesterday to carry high optimism into next season under Coach Lisa Belcher.
Today, William & Mary's doubles team at the first slot displayed why it is ranked No. 1 in the nation to lead the doubles point win. In singles, William & Mary got wins at the No. 3, 4 and 6 slots to earn the four points for the win and right to advance to the title match.
