Orlando, Fla.  (01/21/07) ? Georgia State's sophomore sensations Dariana Kozmina (Kharkiv, Ukraine) and Martina Nitkova (Vratimov, Czech Republic) were victorious in singles action on Sunday afternoon at the UCF Invitational at the UCF Tennis Complex.  The Panthers led the day off with doubles action and all three duos fell to their adversaries.

Kozmina won in a match fought down to the wire after winning the second set to send the match into a super tiebreaker.  Nitkova defeated her opponent in straight sets 6-1, 6-4.  Freshman Emma Stahl-Johansson (Sodertalje, Sweden) received her first victory of the season by default.  Juniors Rachel Malina (Decatur, Ga.), Kiera Strickland (Roswell, Ga.) and Mateja Podgorsek (Domzale, Slovenia) and sophomore Brittany Smith (Toronto, Ontario) were downed in straight sets to their respective opponents.

Georgia State will open its dual match schedule against South Carolina State at the Bitsy Grant Tennis Center in Atlanta, Ga.  The match is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
