Women's tennis Malina advances at Wofford Invitational
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (09/16/06) ? Georgia State junior Rachel Malina won both of her singles matches to advance in the main draw at the Wofford College Fall Women's Tennis Invitational on Saturday. Junior Kiera Strickland split her matches, winning the first contest before dropping her second. Freshman Emma Stahl-Johansson was downed in both of her singles matches.
In doubles action, Malina and Stahl-Johansson paired for a split. They fell to Cayley Wetzig and Lauran Lynn Williams of host Wofford then came back to defeat Mirian Cruz and Marcela Rodezno from South Carolina State.
Singles and doubles action will continue tomorrow with finals to end the day.
