Georgia State Announces 2025-26 Academic Report

ATLANTA – Georgia State Athletics announced its academic report for the 2025-26 school year, highlighted by another exceptional performance from the men's tennis program and strong department-wide academic growth across multiple sports.

"Our commitment extends far beyond competition," Deputy Athletics Director of Academics and Student-Athlete Development Brad Horton said. "We are intentionally building a culture where academic achievement, personal growth and leadership are not optional outcomes, but expected standards for every student-athlete. We firmly believe academic success and athletic achievement are deeply interconnected, and one cannot be sustained without the other. Because of this, we remain steadfast in our commitment to providing comprehensive resources, intentional structure, and individualized support that enable our student-athletes to excel at the highest level in the classroom and in competition."

Men's tennis earned the highest male team GPA across both semesters, posting a 4.06 GPA in Fall 2025 and a 3.99 GPA in Spring 2026. Women's tennis led all women's programs in the fall with a 4.02 GPA, while women's golf posted the highest women's team GPA in the spring at 3.86.

In addition to the semester leaders, women's soccer, men's soccer, men's golf and football all recorded significant team GPA increases during the 2025-26 academic year compared to the 2024-25 academic terms.

"At the core of our philosophy is the pursuit of excellence in every dimension of the collegiate experience," Horton said. "We challenge our student-athletes not only to meet expectations, but to exceed them academically, athletically and personally, as they prepare for success beyond their time in college."

Georgia State student-athletes combined for a 3.26 department-wide GPA during the academic year, with women's programs posting a collective 3.49 GPA and men's programs recording a 3.10 GPA.

"I would also like to recognize and sincerely thank the leadership and staff of our athletics program, as well as our outstanding faculty, for their unwavering partnership," Horston said. "Their consistent guidance, encouragement, and dedication play a vital role in creating an environment where our student-athletes are empowered to thrive and achieve sustained academic success."
