ATLANTA, GA --Micah Tucker and Jelani Hamilton combined to score 41 total points, but the Panthers fell to the James Madison Dukes 80-65 at home Saturday.
Tucker led the Panthers with 22 points and Hamilton tacked on 19 points, six rebounds and three steals. Malachi Brown chipped in as well with 11 points and two steals.
The Georgia State defense caused its share of mistakes in Saturday's game, forcing 13 James Madison turnovers while committing 12. Those takeaways turned into 12 points on the offensive end of the floor. Hamilton's three steals led the way individually for the Panthers.
How It Happened
Georgia State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 40-26 heading into halftime.
James Madison kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 75-58 advantage before Georgia State went on a 5-0 run, finished off by Hamilton's three, to shrink the deficit to 75-63 with 1:25 to go in the contest. James Madison responded and outscored the Panthers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 80-65.
