Kaleb Freeman and
Wills Maginnis each tallied three hits and
Michael Maginnis drove in three runs as Georgia State rallied from a seven-run deficit to tie the game in the fifth and take the lead in the eighth but fell 15-14 to Marshall in ten innings at the GSU Baseball Complex on Friday night.
A senior from Flowery Branch, Ga., Freeman went 3-for-4 with three RBI's, including a solo home run that sparked GSU's first rally of seven runs in the fifth inning and a double also in the fifth, bringing his GSU single-season record to 25 on the year.
Wills Maginnis went 3-for-6 with one RBI, and his brother
Michael Maginnis went 2-for-5 with three RBI's.
Georgia State (24-27, 9-16 SBC) trailed 9-2 in the fifth when they scored seven runs on six hits with three errors to tie the game 9-9.
Marshall (26-24, 11-14 SBC) responded with three runs on three hits in the sixth to take a 12-9 lead, and the score remained that way until the eighth when GSU scored five runs on three hits with one error to take a 14-12 lead. But the Thundering Herd tied the game with two runs in the ninth and took the lead for good on a solo home run by Maika Niu in the tenth.

Nick Garagozzo drew a pinch-hit walk to load the bases again.
Andon Lewis delivered a pinch-hit infield single that drove in another run.
Another wild pitch allowed one more run to score and tie the game 12-12 before
Jae Williams drew another walk to load the bases again.
Carter Bailey then hit a ground ball to the pitcher, but the catcher couldn't secure the pitcher's underhand toss to the plate, allowing the go-ahead run to score, and then Freeman drove in one more run on a sacrifice fly to left field.
Due to weather concerns Game Two of Georgia State's series with Marshall will be played at 12 p.m. on Saturday. 14 Panther seniors will be honored prior to the start of the game.
