ATLANTA, GA --Cesare Edwards scored 24 points to help lead the Georgia State men's basketball team over the Appalachian State Mountaineers 70-65 at home Saturday.
Edwards added nine rebounds and three blocks to his 24 point game to lead the Panthers (12-15, 7-7). Nick McMullen helped out with 10 points and eight rebounds and Malachi Brown chipped in with 11 points.

How It Happened
Georgia State started off strong, putting together a 38-37 lead heading into halftime.
The Mountaineers proceeded to tie things up at 62-62 before Georgia State went on a 6-0 run to seize a 68-62 lead with nine seconds to go in the contest. The Mountaineers narrowed the margin somewhat before the game was over, but the Panthers still held on for the 70-65 win. Georgia State got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for eight of its 32 total points.
