ATLANTA-- Georgia State fell 30-18 to Marshall at home Saturday afternoon.

Tj Finley led Georgia State's passing attack with a season-high 251 yards through the air, tossing one touchdown and two interceptions.
Jordon Simmons paced the Panthers rushing attack by accumulating 164 yards and one touchdown over the course of the game, averaging 8.6 yards per carry. In the first offensive play of the game for the Panthers, Simmons scored a 92-yard rushing touchdown to mark the longest rushing touchdown in program history. Simmons also tacked on 64 receiving yards, including a season-high 32 yard reception.
Branson Robinson also added two yards on the ground.
Ted Hurst reeled in seven catches for 74 yards. Grant Hollier got in on the action in the passing game as well, hauling in six balls for 51 yards and one touchdown.
Jartavius Flounoy showed out for the Georgia State defense, collecting three tackles, 2.0 TFLÂ and one sack. Kedrick Walker added a career-high 11 tackles, 1.0 TFLÂ and one sack.Â
The Georgia State offense did a good job prolonging drives, converting on 41.2 percent of third-down attempts. The Panthers also went 4-for-4 on fourth down.
Georgia State's defense held up fairly well against the run, limiting Marshall to 168 yards on the ground.
On special teams, kicker Braeden McAlister made a 60-yard field goal to tie the SBC record for longest field goal, mark the longest Sun Belt field goal this season, break the GSU program record and hit the second-longest FG in the NCAA this season.Â

How It Happened
Georgia State scored first and opened up a 7-0 lead with 13:05 left in the first quarter.Marshall then scored to take a 21-7 lead before the Panthers put a field goal on the board to narrow the gap and make it a 21-10 game.
Georgia State cut into Marshall's lead with a touchdown with 3:27 left in the third quarter to make it 21-18. Georgia State went scoreless the rest of the game while Marshall added nine points to finish off the scoring.
