ATLANTA – Three Panthers scored in double-figures but Georgia State (7-8, 1-3 Sun Belt) fell 82-57 to Georgia Southern (8-8, 1-3 Sun Belt) at the GSU Convocation Center on Wednesday evening.
Eghosa Obasuyi led the Panthers with 15 points and shot 4-of-6 from the field and 3-of-4 from three.
Kaleigh Addie scored 12 points, and
Mahogany Matthews scored 10 points, five rebounds and five blocked shots, bringing her season total to 35 on the year. The graduate student from York, Pa. entered the contest ranked first in the Sun Belt and top-30 in the nation for total blocks and blocks per game.
Mikyla Tolivert and
Cheyenne Holloman each led GSU with seven rebounds.
Georgia State trailed 28-25 with 4:35 left in the second quarter when Georgia Southern used a 23-7 run through the end of the second and start of the third to pull away for good.
Obasuyi nailed two straight threes to pull the Panthers within 13, but GSU would get no closer
