NEW ORLEANS, LA --The Georgia State volleyball team lost to the Tulane Green Wave 3-2 (20-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-21, 11-15) Friday on the road at Avron B Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse.
The non-conference loss moved Georgia State to 8-3 on the season.
The Panthers were led by a double-double from Keionna MacKey, who registered 23 kills and 12 digs on the day. Peyton Gash also added 15 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Kaleigh Fitzgerald chipped in for with 27 digs to go with two blocks from Myllena Torquetti.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Panthers fell behind early, losing the first set 25-20. Georgia State trailed by as many as seven points as Tulane never surrendered the lead in a set that was tied up zero times before the Green Wave took control.
SET 2 | Georgia State responded to pick up a 25-18 victory in set two, evening the match at one set apiece. The Panthers led from the first point on in the set to secure the victory. Georgia State opened up as much as a seven point lead at 16-9 before finishing off the set, collecting 16 kills in the process.
SET 3 | Tulane responded to win set number three, putting Georgia State in a two sets to one hole. The Panthers dropped the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before losing the set 25-21.
SET 4 | Georgia State then responded to secure the fourth set 25-21 to force a fifth set. The Panthers scored first and never trailed in the set to earn the victory. Georgia State opened up as much as a seven point lead at 12-5 before finishing off the stanza, collecting 19 kills in the set.
SET 5 | Georgia State was on the wrong side of a back-and-forth match, winning the second and fourth sets, but dropping the first, third and fifth, which they dropped by the score of 15-11, to fall in the match. The Panthers had a lead early in the set at 1-1 before Tulane took over.
