NEW ORLEANS, LA --The Georgia State volleyball team cruised to a three-set victory (25-15, 25-23, 25-22) over the New Orleans Privateers Saturday on the road at Human Performance Center.
The out-of-conference victory improved the Panthers' overall record to 9-3 on the season.
The Panthers offense was paced by Keionna MacKey, who finished with 11 kills on the day, and by Peyton Gash, who had 10 while hitting .444. got 13 digs from Kaleigh Fitzgerald to lead them defensively.

SET 1 | The Panthers took set one 25-15 powered by a strong showing on the attacking end. Georgia State registered a .357 attack percentage with 11 kills in the set victory. The Panthers ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the stanza. Georgia State also supplemented their offense with five aces in the opening set. got a solid defensive performance from a front row that blocked four New Orleans attacks in the stanza.
SET 2 | After their win in the first set, Georgia State put themselves on the cusp of a sweep with a 25-23 victory in set number two. The Panthers took the set with the help of a strong performance on the attacking side. Georgia State registered a .400 attack percentage with 19 kills in the set win. After the lead changed hands three times, the Panthers took control for good at 10-9 and rode that advantage to victory. The Georgia State offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza.
SET 3 | Georgia State finished off the match in a 3-0 sweep after taking the third set. The Panthers led from the opening point on in the set to secure a 25-22 victory. Georgia State opened up as much as a six point lead at 20-14 before closing out the set, collecting 16 kills in the process. The Georgia State offense also got a boost from four aces in the stanza.
Georgia State will begin conference play on Sept. 27 against Arkansas State.Â
