JONESBORO, AR --The Georgia State volleyball team lost to the Arkansas State Red Wolves 3-1 (18-25, 11-25, 25-20, 9-25) Friday on the road at First National Bank Arena.
The loss dropped Georgia State's record to 9-4 overall and 0-1 in Sun Belt action.
Alessia Cappai finished with six kills on the day to lead the Panthers offense. The Panthers got 16 digs from Kaleigh Fitzgerald to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Panthers found themselves in an early hole, dropping a tough first set 25-18. Georgia State trailed by as many as seven points as Arkansas State grabbed the advantage for good at 13-12 in a set that was tied up four times before the Red Wolves took control.
SET 2 | Georgia State then dropped the second set 25-11 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. The Panthers lost the first point and never took the lead before dropping the set.
SET 3 | After dropping the first two sets, Georgia State rallied to take the third set and make it a 2-1 match. The Panthers led from the opening point on in the set to secure a 25-20 victory. Georgia State opened up as much as an eight point lead at 17-9 before closing out the set.
SET 4 | Georgia State couldn't keep the momentum and fell in the fourth set 25-9 to drop the match. The Panthers dropped the first point and never clawed back into the lead before losing the set.
The Panthers are back tomorrow to compete in their second conference match against Arkansas State at 2:00 p.m. E.T.Â
