NEW ORLEANS, LA --The Georgia State volleyball team took care of business in three sets (25-21, 25-13, 25-19) to beat the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters Friday at Avron B Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse.
The non-conference victory improved Georgia State's overall record to 8-2 on the season.
The Panthers attack was paced by Keionna MacKey, who finished with 13 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .632, and by Alessia Cappai, who had 13 while hitting .481. Defensively, had two players reach double figures in digs as Kaleigh Fitzgerald had 14 and Patrycja Zielinska had 11.

SET 1 | The Panthers grabbed control of the set-one lead at 3-2 and never looked back to win 25-21. Georgia State led by seven points at 14-7 before finishing off the set.
SET 2 | Georgia State won set two 25-13 to promptly jump to a 2-0 lead. The Panthers scored first and never trailed in the set to earn the victory. Georgia State opened up as much as a 13 point lead at 24-11 before finishing off the set, collecting 15 kills while only registering two attack errors in the set. The Panthers hit .351 over the course of the set. Georgia State's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four Louisiana Tech attacks in the stanza.
SET 3 | Georgia State took set three to finish off the match. The Panthers won the set 25-19 thanks to a solid performance on the attacking side. Georgia State registered a .394 attack percentage with 16 kills in the set win. The Panthers ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the stanza.
The Panthers will take on Tulane next at the Tulane/UNO Tournament at 8:00 p.m.
