The contract of former Georgia State Panthers pitcher Ryan Watson has been purchased by the Toronto Blue Jays organization from the Frontier League's Florence Y'Alls. Watson, who made his professional debut with Florence in 2023, made just three starts for Florence this year, posting a 2.76 ERA in 16.1 innings with 17 punchouts.

Watson made his Blue Jays Gulf Coast League debut on Monday, June 3rd, 2024 throwing 4.0 innings for the Jays, striking out eight, while walking only two.

Ryan was Georgia State's top starter during the 2023 season, posting a 7-2 record with a 3.79 ERA. Watson is currently second on Georgia State 's all time school wins list with 20 and is third on the saves record list with 12.
